Bernie Ai was a free flowing collaboration between Yas Vicente, Margot Parker and myself. The project was completed over three weeks and with a focus on experimentation and collaboration. Had drawn illustrations were used as a basis for Ai training and geometry exploration, that later fed into a Unreal Engine.
The above is the output of training a stable diffusion model on the hand drawn sketches. Generated shapes were then extracted using an edge detection algorithm.
A parametric setup was designed in Houdini and then fed into the Ai trained on on the shapes. After some refinement, the pipeline was able to produce infinite variations or bespoke characters, all with a unique personality.
Finally Yas beautifully created a short film with the character inside Unreal Engine, it was the first time using the software.
